A Self Helping Hand

On the road to recovery, one can't rely exclusively on others for help. One has to be able to help themselves for true recovery.

As a helping hand and part of my obligation to this group as one of it's creators, I give to you that hand. *Hands you a disembodied zombie hand* Wait, wrong one. Here, *Puts the hand away* I introduce to you, idea of Self Help. We have found and adopted various exercises that are fun, creative, and not to mention helpfull.

Below are a list the excercises, a brief description, and the rules for each of them.

This exercise couples you with another person(s) with the goal of finishing a story, long or short. This can be of any length or genre, as long as it's complete. It can be planned out or completely random. The choice and freedom is all up to you and partner(s).

The exercise tests the amount you can write in a time limit, with only a title to go off of. This forces you to use your imagination and come up with an idea or two. The time limit is thirty minutes from when you finish typing in the post title.

This exercise is what your typical RP is, a story collaboration. The goal is the end. Double posting is allowed, rules can be set but they have to be agreed upon by participants, their is no limit to the amount of participants for one story, and there is no time limit. This tests your ability to work with others tandem on a single cause/goal/idea.

This really isn't an excercise as much as a gallery to spark creativity. There is no goal and there is no test.

Just like the Timed Title exercise, this only offers a picture to go off of. This tests your ability to use details to your advantage and to make connections. No time limit, and your given complete freedom. You can write a scene, a story (short or long), poem, etc. The goal is the end as well.
